Bandmaster’s epic vintage journey reaches Glenrothes
A Salvation Army bandmaster and classic motorbike enthusiast will be dropping in to Glenrothes on Tuesday as he embarks on an epic journey on a vintage moped.
Jonathan Corry will visit the town to conduct the Tullis Russell Mills Intermediate Band and raise money for charity as he travels from John O’Groats to Lands End on a 1955 NSU Quickly moped with five pint petrol tank.
The 28-year-old will be joining the local brass band for their practice at Woodside Community Centre on Tuesday, August 3 between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
Members of the public are being invited to come along and listen to the rehearsal to help Jonathan with his fundraising for two charities.
He is completing the fundraising journey in aid of Action Africa, a support group for The Salvation Army’s Chikankata Hospital in Zambia, and Riders for Health, which provides reliable transport, including mopeds, to support rural health care projects across Africa.
